Performances
The Soul Crooners will be performing for the first time at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts (Marshall E. Rinker, Sr. Playhouse) in West Palm Beach, Florida for a fun-filled blast of some of the greatest soul music ever made. Soul Crooners celebrates the sounds of the 70's, featuring the guys dancing, singing, swinging and mixing up heavenly harmonies from the O’Jays, Earth Wind and Fire, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Donny Hathaway, Jackson Five and many more. Whatever happens to you during this hip-shaking, earth-quaking show … blame it on the boogie.
Soul Crooners is a celebration of the music that ushered in a new era of soul during the ‘70s. The music was known for combining lush orchestrations with great vocalists who could sing unforgettable melodies and heavenly harmonies. Nate Jacobs, founding artistic director of Sarasota’s Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, has written and adapted the show that takes on classics such as Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” by the Temptations, “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5 and James Brown’s “I Feel Good.” In all, there are more than 40 soul songs in the show.
